Tyson Stelzer (2011 Vintage) says
De Iuliis Steven vineyard claimed no less than four trophies at the Hunter Wine Show last month, but it looked a little grumpy the day I tasted it, completely overshadowed by its equal-priced LDR sibling. From 21-year-old-vines on Lovedale Road (presumably abbreviated LDR because ‘Lovedale’ was already taken), this is a wine of poise, balance and lively purity. A pristine tannin profile, fine and textural, is gently integrated with focused and vibrant black cherry and plum fruit, lingering with considerable persistence.

James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says
The colour is excellent; this is a rich, succulent and supple wine awash with plum and blackberry fruit, hints of earth (with more to come) and ripe tannins.
Australian Wine Companion 2014 Edition 2013
James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Deep crimson, bright; a heady and perfumed bouquet of black cherry, plum, spices and a little briary complexity; the medium-bodied palate is fleshy and accessible, ready to go, but also showing enough stuffing and structure to see a little time in the cellar as a good option; lovely craftsmanship.
