Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (1997 Vintage) says
Estate-grown in the Mangatawhiri Valley, in the Waikato, at its best this wine displays strong, lively grapefruit and buttery oak flavours, a touch of complexity and a long, tight finish. The 1996 is a beautifully balanced, ripe-tasting wine with fullness of body and excellent depth of tropical and citrus fruit flavours, slightly creamy and long. The 1997 vintage oak-aged for a year, is a full-bodied, very solid wine. It lacks the richness of the 1996, but offers good depth of slightly nutty and buttery flavours and a creamy-soft finish.
