Cracka Review

They're crafty winemakers over there at Deep Woods, crafty enough to realise that a little winemaker work goes a long way with Sauvignon Blanc. Hence why this wine has been 'worked' just a little, given a little barrel maturation and some lees ageing to make for a more interesting dry white.

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: Very pale straw in colour.

Nose: Zesty citrus, passionfruit and herbal aromas are combined with hints of toast and gunflint.

Palate: The palate exhibits clean passionfruit and citrus flavours. Textural elements contributed by lees stirring and barrel fermentation give rise to a multi-dimensional wine. There is a core of cleansing natural acidity that provides freshness and poise with a persistent and flavoursome finish.

James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Pale quartz; a zesty, zingy offering of citrus, passionfruit and fresh snowpea fruit on the bouquet and palate alike; Margaret River at its best in terms of varietal fruit expression.

Impressive wine, this. Bursting with a mix of tropical fruits, citrus and a dusty edge of snow pea. The palate displays texture which comes from the light barrel fermentation influence and some quality fruit. IT's balanced and retains a fresh vibrancy to a long finish.
