The grapes were picked at various levels of ripeness, and part of the wine was barrel-fermented, resulting in a gently complex, well-balanced wine with flavours running the full spectrum from ripe to tart fruit, oak providing a little extra texture.

Modern, shapely and contemporary, with a smoky, lightly vegetal and almost sweaty, Loire Valley-like bouquet of white flowers, minerals and a suggestion of green beans. It's long, chalky and slightly crunchy, delivering a rather wild and funky flavour profile backed by lychee and gooseberry fruits. It finishes austere and savoury with meaty, wet slate-like nuances and taut, bracing acidity.

Fresh and racy, this long, austere and focused sauvignon blanc has a pleasingly tight shape and racy acidity. Its lightly grassy aromas of gooseberries, passionfruit and mineral undertones precede a long and restrained but mouthfilling palate with length and intensity. Underpinned by a fine chalkiness, it's perhaps a shade hard and steely, finishing slightly angular, with just a hint of squashed fruit. Definitely a food style.
