Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
This unwooded wine places its accent on ripe, rounded, tropical-fruit flavours in a very easy-drinking style. The delicious 2002 vintage was grown mainly on relatively heavy soils at Meeanee and Havelock North. A dry style (3 grams/litre of sugar), it is ripely aromatic, with full body, vibrant, gently herbaceous, melon-like flavours and a well-rounded finish. However, the 2002 vintage was the last; this wine has been replaced by the Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

This unwooded wine places its accent on round, ripe Hawke's Bay fruit flavours, in a very easy-drinking style. The 1998 vintage is a decent, full-bodied, smooth wine with melon/lime flavours, but less exciting than its Chardonnay stablemate of the same vintage.
