Destinations Yarra Valley Pinot Noir

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

The Destinations from Long Flat is a range of wines that have matched varieties with the best regions for them to thrive. This release shows Pinot and the Adelaide Hills go hand in hand as the grape has found a comfortable home in the cool climate. It has a varietal nose of cherry, earth and spice with notes of cedar due to the oak. Complex and long as well as soft and comforting it will marry well with pork, chicken or duck dishes.

Winemaker's Notes

Fermentation was carried out in small open stainless steel fermenters the temperature was allowed to get quite warm - encouraging good extraction of colour and flavour from the grape skins; after pressing the wine was transferred into French oak barriques for aging. Enjoy the aromas of dark cherry and spice and the hints of strawberry and cedar. The flavour is long and complex and will continue to develop over the next three years.

Food Match: Perfect with smoked rainbow trout risotto or grilled loin of venison skewers with chilli cherry drizzle sauce.
