Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Bright colour; seductive cherry and plum fruit, framed by prominent smoky aromas; a fleshy palate, with a little firmness to the finish; certainly a wine of the vintage.
Australian Wine Companion 2010 2009
James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Complex aromas, flavours and texture drive a palate with both depth and length; cherry, plum and oriental spices supported by quality French oak; long, lingering finish.
Australian Wine Companion 2009 2008
Jeremy Oliver (2006 Vintage) says
A dusty, floral bouquet of red cherries, baked earth and meaty, currant-like undertones reveals spicy notes of clove and cinnamon. Supple and willowy, its fragile, almost ethereal palate delivers a delicate expression of sweet cherries and raspberries backed by slightly toasty oak and a fine-grained, dusty spine before finishing with slightly greenish and metallic notes and a hint of currant.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Slightly deeper colour than the Yarra Valley; the bouquet much riper and sweeter, the palate with abundant plum and black cherry, with years of development. The eternal question: is it worth more than twice as much as the Yarra Valley Pinot?
Australian Wine Companion 2008 2007
Jeremy Oliver (2005 Vintage) says
Herbal and slightly sappy, this fine, smooth and silky pinot reveals some ethereal, perfumed and sweetly oaked cherry/berry varietal flavour backed by suggestions of cinnamon and pepper. It's elegant and stylish, but finishes marginally short, with slightly green-edged and metallic tannins.
