Dog Point Vineyard Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2010 Vintage) says
This wine offers a clear style contrast to Section 94, the company's complex, barrel-aged Sauvignon Blanc . Hand-picked, it is lees-aged in tanks, with no exposure to oak. The 2010 vintage is Mouthfilling and dry, with a slightly 'funky' bouquet and good concentration of ripe, citrusy, limey flavours, tight and long.

This wine offers a clear style contrast to Section 94, the company's complex, barrel-aged Sauvignon Blanc (see the Branded and Other White Wines section). Hand-picked, it is lees-aged in tanks, with no exposure to oak. The 2008 vintage is mouthfilling, with good weight and depth of vibrant, ripe, limey, slightly leesy flavours, fresh acidity and a smooth (4.8 grams/litre of residual sugar), finely balanced finish.

Michael Cooper (2004 Vintage) says
Offering great drinkability, the 2004 vintage was hand-picked, fermented with indigenous yeasts and lees-aged for five months in tanks, with occasional stirring. It's a fleshy, finely textured wine with sweet fruit characters, deep grapefruit and lime flavours, a slightly minerally streak and rich, rounded finish.
