Smells like new leather and earthy fruits. Rich, warm, developing and very complex palate.

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2006 Vintage) says
Mattinson reckons that about the only shot he had in cricket was a slashing square cut - well, that and ducking for cover. (Is that a shot?) Nice name for a cabernet, and fitting, we reckon. We swear this smells like an empty chocolate box! It tastes of cherry pips, juicy berries, aniseed and vanilla oak, all within the context of medium-bodied intensity. There's nothing dull here, though, the flavours lively and energetic, and the finish lengthy. It needs another year to settle down, but it looks promising.
