Cracka Review

Now for something completely different! Saperavi is a native grape variety of the republic of Georgia, and the first thing that will impress you about this wine is its bright colour. Red and dark berry fruits rise out of the glass, whilst the palate is quite full with some plummy fruits and a touch of dried stone fruits. The tannins are talcy, the acid is evident but approachable, and it finishes dry. These wines can age for 10-years, but it is drinking well now.

Winemaker's Notes

Colour: Youthful deep purple with a slight reddish hue.

Nose: Fresh, juicy red and dark berry fruit characters, with a subtle cranberry lift.

Palate: Fresh berry fruit, plums and semi-dried prunes. Medium bodied with good acid, supple viscosity and a slightly chalky tannin finish.

Full but not death-defying colour; gently savoury/earthy/leathery spectrum of aromas and flavours.
