Domaine Chandon Sparkling Pinot Shiraz

James Halliday says
Medium red-purple; an extremely complex and interesting fruit base (Yarra Valley pinot noir and McLaren Vale shiraz), with some spicy aspects; the palate works equally well, with the sweetness coming from the fruit as much as dosage; should have very broad appeal, and will improve with time in bottle.

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh says
Traditional sparkling-red fodder. Sweet, cranberried, mushroomy and perhaps a touch gamey, with the flavours tripping lightly along your tongue. It's a positive experience in a quirky way. The flavours don't have great persistence, and it would be better if it were drier, but it would be pretty easy to down a few glasses. This has been a favourite of Mattinson's for a few years, though it seems to be sweeter than it once was. The winery recommends that it be consumed with pork dishes - which sounds a bit of all right. Walsh reckons he 'almost enjoyed' drinking it.
