Cracka Review

Now here's a bonny Burgundian at a decent price that would be great with anything from duck to a hearty lamb casserole. It's spicy and red fruited on the nose, with a touch of choc-mint, whilst the palate is medium-bodied and dry, with squishy red fruit flavours, hints of savouriness, fine tannins, and a lick of spice on the finish.

Winemaker's Notes

From central Burgundy, in the higher hills to the West of the Côte de Beaune. Diverse clay-rich limestone soils on Jurassic rock. Exposures are South to East, getting best sunlight.

Vinification Traditional Burgundian method of vinification in open vats with twice daily treading down and long maceration for maximum extraction.

Appearance: Deep and dark ruby-red colour.

Nose: On the nose a touch of somewhat minty chocolate.

Palate: Quite soft on the palate, a well-balanced build, with notes of spices, and a balsamic touch.

Food: Great with grills and roasts of red meat, stews, small game and medium cheeses.

Cellaring: Ageing potential 5 to 7 years.

Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir.%
