Cracka Review

If crisp, zesty and refreshing is what you are looking for, stop right here and check this puppy out! Lots of tropical fruit salad and citrusy characters adorn the nose, whilst the palate is light, zippy and thirst-quenching with lemony flavours, a whisper of sweetness, and a bright, talcy finish. Just what a Summers day ordered!

Winemaker's Notes

The 2013 was sourced entirely from Norm and Jane Doole's Home Block vineyard in the cooler Adelaide Hills region. Picked and crushed within two hours. Both free run and light pressings were used.

Appearance:
Very pale colour, almost water white.

Nose: Fresh, tight and juicy underpinned by a touch of green grass.

Palate: A lingering, zesty palate with excellent texture and minerality. Bright, racy acidity made for drinking young and fresh.

Food: Oysters, crustaceans, goat's cheese.

James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Pale straw green; the wine takes a millisecond before its impact hits the palate, with green apple, citrus zest and minerally acidity driving through the length of the palate, lingering long on the aftertaste. 13% alc

Light straw-green; while the bouquet is not particularly expressive, albeit clean, the wine comes together well on the palate, with a harmonious array of gently tropical flavours and citrussy/minerally acidity to close.

A very fragrant bouquet, with passionfruit and gooseberry playing tag, then a fine and elegant palate, with similar fruit plus lemony acidity.

Almost straw-like nose and hints of citrus and herbal fruits on the fresh, clean palate.

Simple, lifted, sweaty gooseberry bouquet and nicely balanced palate that's rich with flavour and has a lovely viscous mouthfeel.
