Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Crimson-purple; everything is well with this wine; deserving of its Reserve status, but it does need time for the French oak to settle down as it will over the next 2-3 years; it has abundant black cherry and blackberry fruit on the bouquet and palate, and the length and balance are good.

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Bright, deep purple-crimson; a wonderfully elegant example of cool-grown shiraz picked at precisely the right moment, even if bottling was delayed by Duke Ranson's return from triple bypass surgery; spice, cracked pepper, black cherry and plum all find their way onto the palate.

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Very good crimson-purple colour; the spicy bouquet and palate both show significant new French oak impact, but there are plenty of black fruits to absorb that oak as the wine matures, and ripe tannins to support the ageing process.
