Nick Stock (1996 Vintage) says
A fine expression of an outstanding vintage for champagne, this smells of fresh bread dough and gentle red fruits, some lemon pith and fresh herbal notes too. The palate starts out fine and toasty with lemon and peach flavour, really impressive, with punchy acidity driving through the palate, making a fresh, compelling impression. The Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide 2010 2009
Tyson Stelzer (1996 Vintage) says
One of the last wines on the shelves from the vintage of a lifetime, this is a wine of incredible tension between a taut acid backbone and a core of fruit power. It eclipses a good few more famous prestige champagnes on the shelves this year, and many at higher prices.
