If you think that the good people at Edenmae love their dogs, especially Border Collies, you would be correct. This one is named after yet another doggie, and shows aromatic scents of black cherries, violets and pepper spice on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with more dark fruit flavours, licks of mocha oak, approachable tannins, and a dry, spiced finish.
This highly aromatic Shiraz has been crafted from a blend of all our Estate Shiraz blocks ('74, '94, '98 plantings).
Add that diverstiy of fruit to a blend of seasoned and new French & American Oak for a full two years, then add again the terroir of our particular Estate, with its ester of Tea Tree & Lavender & you have a unique Shiraz indeed!
This blend, as with Jesse our first girly Border Collie, will no doubt prove to be a daily go-to for comfort, consistence & companionship. Perhaps a tennis ball at the base of the bottle would be fitting also...
She's best cracked on the back verandah, boots off, after a hard days work. Enjoy now or cellar for a good ten years.
