James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Vivid deep crimson in colour, the bouquet offers violets, dark cherry, plum, roasted meats, tar and spice; the palate is ample and sweet-fruited on entry, with gravelly tannins bringing up the rear; long, savoury and refreshing.

An elegant and stylish shiraz which is very much a product of this vintage. Smoothly balanced on the palate with savoury fruit, fine-grained oak and fine firm tannins, It has a savoury grainy feel in the mouth with excellent complexity.

Strong crimson-purple; the bouquet is fragrant, with red and black fruits, the same characters coming through with clarity on the well-balanced, medium-bodied palate; the tannins are gently savoury and fine, the oak well balanced.

One of the more elegant and restrained shiraz from Edwards. It's soft and generous on the palate with savoury spicy and slightly pepper characters. The fine grainy tannins are well placed and the oak handled well. Still has some nice shiraz mineral earthiness and that fruit is exceptional.

Distinctive mace and eucalypt behind the black fruit. Sweet fruit and medium long and extra spice details emerging as the vineyard gets older.

A sumptuous and elegant shiraz. The bouquet of cedar and light plum with fragrances of coffee and savoury dark chocolate s superb. The palate knits everything together into a seamless silky smooth package with great mouth feel and flavour. A beauty.

Medium-bodied; complex interplay between blackberry fruits, tannins, spice and oak, with savoury tannins on the finish.

Developed, albeit dark, colour; very powerful, but over-extracted, black fruits and dry tannins. Seems to have been picked a little too late. Not typical of the vineyard.

Deep colour; powerful, rich and complex; abundant blackberry fruit; attractive spicy components; long finish.

Boy this shiraz has some grunt behind it. Powerful aroma of licorice, coffee and a rich black berry and blue berry mix. There's a bit of black pepper and spice lurking through there too. The dense and thick palate has a rich chewy feel with solid weight of shiraz and oak. At the same time the palate has a satiny feel, which makes for excellent current drinking.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Medium to full red-purple; solid blackberry, licorice and bitter chocolate aromas are followed by a medium to full-bodied palate, the ripe fruit and ripe tannins providing good mouthfeel and length.

James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the bouquet has an attractive, savoury mix of fruit and cedary oak, a combination which continues on the elegant, medium-bodied palate, with spicy/cedary notes; all in all, very much less aggressive than the '99 vintage, and all the better for that.
