Eldridge Estate of Red Hill Fume Blanc

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

From a cool vintage on the Peninsula this is one rather sexy take on Sauvignon Blanc - it's a fume style, which means that this spent a little time maturing in oak barrels to give more complexity and minerality. It's still an aromatic and intriguing wine though, full of Savvy herbs in there too.

Winemaker's Notes

Grassy nose with hints of prunus blossom and lemongrass. The palate begins with an explosion of flavour , lemongrass zing at the front with the blossom and flower flavours following and ending with a chalky finish.

Capsicum and a touch of tomato; the texture is quite interesting, but the fruit fails to persist on the finish.
