Elephant Hill Chardonnay

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2008 Vintage) says
Grown near the coast at Te Awanga, in Hawke's Bay, the 2008 vintage is rich, complex and full of personality. Hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts in French oak barriques (50 per cent new) and lees-aged in oak for 10 months, with no use of malolactic fermentation, it's a sophisticated wine with sweet-fruit delights, highly concentrated grapefruit and stone-fruit flavours seasoned with toasty oak, and a fresh, finely balanced finish. Drink now or cellar.
