James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Deep purple-red; an almost painfully pure rendition of cool-climate shiraz, its black fruit bouquet surrounded by spice, clove and pepper notes balanced by quality oak; the palate is taut and intense, the fruit driving through to a long finish, the tannins neatly controlled. Demands time.

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Strong purple-crimson; vibrant and fresh cool-grown aromas and flavours with a fruit lift similar to that given by viognier (there is none so far as I know); the palate is juicy and long, tannins and oak in a dual support role. Stained cork a worry.
