Michael Cooper (2000 Vintage) says
The 1998 vintage of this Hawke's Bay beauty is a notably complex dessert wine with a Sauternes-like mouthfeel and power The lighter 2000 is rare-just 500 half bottles were made. It's refined, rich and very soft, with lush, delicate flavours and a long, sweet, rich finish. A beautifully balanced wine, it's a logical candidate for cellaring, but already dangerously drinkable.

Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
Still very youthful, the lovely 1998 vintage is a highly concentrated Hawke's Bay wine with rich, delicate flavours of citrus fruits, pears and honey. It was harvested in the Wicken vineyard at Hastings in mid-June ("a week before the shortest day," recalls winemaker Gordon Russell), fermented in all-new French oak barriques, stop-fermented at 175 grams/litre of residual sugar and oak-matured for 10 months. Sweet, with finely balanced acidity, it's a beautifully poised and stylish wine for cellaring to at least 2002; potentially well beyond.
