Evans & Tate Redbrook Cabernet Sauvignon

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This is one of the flagship wines for Evans & Tate, and it's certainly sporting enough wine show gold 'bling' to confirm it's a pretty good drop. Aromas of cassis, tobacco leaf, hedgerow berries and choc-mint adorn the nose, whilst the palate is medium-bodied, succulent and silky, with a compact core of dark fruits, a solid line of fine tannins, bright acidity, and a long, lingering, taut finish that is screaming out for more time in bottle, or a good decent. It's awesome at the price for a cellar-worthy wine.

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: Vibrant, deep purple/black with a dense purple rim.

Nose: Dried herbs, redcurrant and floral notes with underlying characters of well seasoned cedar, savoury spice and tobacco leaf.

Palate: Seamless with tremendous length and intensity of flavour and a lovely savoury tannin grip that Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon is renowned for which adds texture and balance. Cool Cabernet characters of redcurrant, menthol and tobacco leaf overlay riper characters of cassis, green olive and blood plum to produce a medium bodied wine with remarkable depth and length of flavour. The ability for the wine to evolve into a tremendous aging style is a dedication to the quality of the fruit, the French oak used and the skill of the winemaker.

Cellaring: Until at least 2025.

Alcohol: 14.2%
