Ray Jordan (2010 Vintage) says
Fabulous statement of the Swan Valley. Griffiths gets his best fruit into this and this one is just about as good as any he has released. Lightly spicy aromas with hints of clove and cinnamon against the earthy lush plummy violet-like fruit. The palate is so dense yet so beautifully refined and elegant. The sweet plush fruit of the middle palate features through to the sustained finish. Will be a Swan Valley classic.

Light floral lift on the nose. Has an appealing leafy overtone with light confectionary raspberry characters showing delicious sweet fruit flavours. It's medium bodied with fine tannins and a composed effortless finish. Lovely wine of finesse and class.

Griffiths has been doing some might good things with Swan Valley Shiraz but none has been better than this cracker. Has all the power and fruit concentration of those earlier ones yet the poise and elegance of this quite stunningly refined Shiraz sets it apart. Seamless and silky palate with a long, long finish. Has some cellaring in it too.

Griffiths has long maintained that if you get the right fruit in the Swan Valley and treat it right you can make some might impressive powerful wines. Well, here's yet another example to redundantly prove his point. Immense and opulent shiraz of depth and concentrated lingering power. Great cellaring wine.

Fabulous lush and rich Shiraz, it's warm and friendly on the palate with masses of dark chocolate and ripe savoury, earthy plum. This would be the slickest and most stylish of this wine yet released. Still has the depth and fruit concentration but there is another level of sophistication.

James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Very good colour; a skilfully structured wine, with very attractive black and red fruits; silky, smooth tannins and a whisk of quality oak.

James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Opaque purple-red; full-bodied; extremely complex, rich and concentrated; blackberry, prune and spice; Swan Valley's answer to the Barossa.

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Attractive savoury style with good length and intensity. Sweet, cedary oak, fine tannins.
Australian Wine Companion 2006 2005
James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Dense, impenetrable purple; intense, deep plum, prune, chocolate and vanilla aromas lead into a massively powerful and complex palate, with great fruit depth and even more tannins. This needs more than a decade to show at its best.

Ray Jordan (2001 Vintage) says
Not sure I've seen a 100 per cent Swan Valley wine like this. It's inky black and densely concentrated with bundles of fruit. Licorice and tarry oak is in there, but so is the concentrated fruit. Having aid that, the palate has a soft supple texture. Look out for this wine
