Jeremy Oliver (2011 Vintage) says
Deliciously vibrant and vital, with an intense, musky and floral bouquet of blackberries, briar, dark cherries and plums backed by older, dusty, fine-grained oak. It's supple and gentle, with almost a sappy, fine-grained undercarriage beneath a vibrant, brightly lit palate whose vivacious fruit finishes with length and spiciness, with freshness, focus and a nervy acidity.

Jeremy Oliver (2010 Vintage) says
Charmingly balanced between its fruit sweetness, its fine-grained texture and its appealing savoury qualities, this fresh, floral, spicy and perfumed rose has a sweet, lifted scent of violets, blackberries, red cherries, briar and underbrush. Medium-bodied, its long and focused, with a deep core of vibrant, spicy fruit underpinned by loose-knit, fine-grained and drying tannin, finishing long and fresh, with earthy complexity.

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Deep red-purple; a blend of shiraz, merlot and sangiovese that is certainly not light-bodied at least. That said, doesnÕt have the usual Sutton Grange tannin signature, its spicy black and red fruits with soft, velvety mouthfeel. Has cruised through the last 3 years, and will not curl up its toes anytime soon.

Nick Stock (2009 Vintage) says
This is in the Emerging Reds chapter on the basis of style, not grape varieties. I first tasted this as it was being pressed after fermentation and darn near hopped into the tank it was so good It's a roughly 50/50 blend of biodynamic estate-grown syrah and merlot with lots of carbonic maceration, but no yeast, enzyme, acid or tannin added, just a little dose of sulphur at bottling. Super-fragrant, juicy red, really perfumed and delicious, with plenty of fresh red and dark berry flavour, fine, smooth tannins and a resolutely balanced finish.

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Purple-red; an interesting wine coming with the instruction to serve chilled; one suspects part of this wine is based on the skins ex the Rose, albeit with more shiraz; is curiously short on the finish. Shiraz/Merlot/Cabernet.
