Fermoy Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Cracka Review

Colour is deep crimson with a reddish hue. Displays aromas of blueberry tart. A full flavoured palate of cinnamon and spices, earl grey tea and Christmas cake. Wine is richly textured and vibrant with robust potpourri flavours on the finish. Tannins are intense yet elegant, with excellent weight and roundness.

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Deeper colour than the varietal; here is the complete wine, with perfect texture and structure to the blackcurrant fruit which results in both length and balance; the oak is restrained but evident, tannins likewise.

Ray Jordan (2009 Vintage) says
Powerful and intense cabernet displaying those blackcurrant and juicy plum characters of Margaret River. The palate is a tightly woven web of firm sinewy tannins, grainy oak and massively concentrated black fruit. It's still rather restrained and yet to really reveal its inner secrets. Linear thread of steely minerality runs the length of the long palate.

Ray Jordan (2001 Vintage) says
This may well be the best Fermoy red yet released. The 2001 vintage was superb in Margaret River and this is really showing the benefits of the wonderful fruit expression that emerged from that year. Rich and deeply intense yet with a velvety softness that belies its underlying strength and power. The standard cabernet already out is also a terrific wine though with less opulent and powerful fruit
