Fire Block Clare Valley Riesling

Cracka Value Rating

Cracka Review

From a vineyard that dates back to the 1920s, this glorious, seriously limey Riesling represents all that is good about Clare Valley whites - lots of flavour, yet with spine tingling acidity that brings you back every time.

Winemaker's Notes

The growing season was mild, but on the dry side. Yields were low, and small berries yielded flavour packed juice. This shows in the wine, which is really an expression of the grape flavours - in this wine it is very obvious. Lemon, lime and floral characters. Typical of a good vintage in Watervale.

James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Bright green-straw; the floral, blossom-filled bouquet is a promising opening stanza, and the palate picks up the story without losing a beat; long, fine and intense, lime and minerally acidity are given an added twist by a faint touch of passionfruit.
