James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Bright straw-green; the complex bouquet has had plenty of winemaker attention, slightly funky and with solids fermentation aromas, but rapidly throws those characters off with its exceptionally intense and long grapefruit and white peach palate; oak has, of course, played an important role.
Australian Wine Companion 2014 Edition 2013
James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says
A very savoury example of the variety from the Hunter, with charcuterie and grilled nuts sitting alongside nectarine and spice; the palate is surprisingly soft and approachable, but there is steel in the backbone, and the finish is long and satisfying; enjoy in the short to medium term.

WINESTATE (2010 Vintage) says
Creamy toasty oak mingles with fresh, lively, peachy varietal fruit. Good acid backbone.
Winestate magazine 2010
James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Gleaming bright green-yellow; a superb example of elegant, modern Hunter Valley chardonnay that has uncovered the secret to an intense, long wine with all the fragrance and juicy white peach fruit of cool climates. The grapes were picked shortly before torrential rain and were in top condition; thereafter the winemaking surely enhanced the quality.
Australian Wine Companion 2013 2012
James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Pale straw-green; a rare dry vintage and highly skilled winemaking have produced a truly fine chardonnay, with the white peach fruit more commonly associated with cool climates caressed by quality French oak.
Australian Wine Companion 2011 2010
James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Bright green-yellow; abundant white peach fruit with well-integrated and balanced oak; slight warmth on the finish is unexpected at this alcohol.
