Flametree Reserve Release Shiraz

Cracka Review

Winemaking notes: The parcel of fruit for this wine was chosen because of the warmer growing conditions delivering wine with ripe soft fruit characters. This wine matured in French oak barrels for twelve months.

Tasting notes: Deep rich ruby hues with a bouquet of stewed fruits, dates and prunes. Rich and full bodied with a fine tannin structure. Delivers a smooth palate of concentrated fruit and spicy cherry layered with fruitcake spice.

Nick Stock (2007 Vintage) says
Good density in the glass; this has rich purple fruit aromas and a good whack of deeper earthy concentration. The oak is assertive and sails out through the fruit on the palate; it really sweeps wide and seems just a little heavy and hot. Plenty of red fruits, still very primary, good depth and drive and just verging on too ripe.

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Dense, opaque colour; hyper-ripe and concentrated; Frankland comes to the Barossa; the back label accurately describes stewed fruits, prunes and dates. Send to Robert Parker Jr forthwith
