Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2007 Vintage) says
Price can be a fair indicator of quality in wine but, as a quick flick through this book amply shows, it's not the best guide there is, even within a single estate's range. Mattinson tasted the Flaxman reds and preferred this over its higher priced stablemate. Excellent. It tastes of blackberry and vanilla, cedarwood and plum jam, and it has that beautiful syrupy smoothness that just about every red-wine drinker appreciates. Medium- to full-bodied with a toasty, coffeed aftertaste ... noice.

WINESTATE (2007 Vintage) says
Brooding, intense dark red wine - very savoury with lots of oak. Very attractive style.

WINESTATE (2006 Vintage) says
Bright, sweet, aromatic fruit bouquet, and a soft and very juicy fruit palate that displays a very good overall structure with plenty of length, depth and character.

WINESTATE (2005 Vintage) says
Some commendable fruit oak handling, with inviting layers of flavour where dark cherries and blackcurrants dominate. A hint of leafiness.
