Forest Hill Vineyard Estate Noble Riesling

Cracka Review

Colour: Golden Straw.

Nose: Vibrant aromas of lemon blossom, orange rind and honey with underlying hints of fresh fig. Subtle citrus leaf notes develop in the glass.

Palate: Luscious flavours of orange blossom, honey and stewed figs feature on the palate. The natural acidity is very well balanced and integrated, lifting the freshness of flavours and lengthening the mouth feel. The wines rich luscious intensity and fleshiness on the palate make it very approachable now, however the acid structure of the wine will see it age well over the next 6 - 10 years.

Food Pairing: Vanilla Bean Pannacotta with quince jelly and marsala zabaglione. This dessert, with a sweet, smooth yet textured finish is a delight with the Noble Riesling. The citrus notes in the Riesling integrate well with the creamy, nutty and delicate spice flavours of the sabayon. This pairing amalgamates two complex yet tantalising flavours to create a crisp freshness and the desired long finish.

Forest Hill Wine Reviews and Accolades

"Full, rich, "marmaladey", unctuous and sweet, this wine is viscous and full of flavour. It has very low levels of unpleasant VA (acetic acid or ethyl acetate) that is so common in botrytised wines. The is a joyful, rich and flavoursome example of the sweet, botrytised version of Riesling, and a great match for blue cheese." - Scoop Magazine, 2010

Peter Forrestal (2008 Vintage) says
A Western Australian sticky of rare quality: sensuous, floral, light and fine, yet intense, with natural acidity.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Pale green-gold; both cane-cut and botrytised, the cane-cut adding richness and honey, but reducing the razor edge of botrytis.
