Forrest Botrytised Chenin Blanc

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2003 Vintage) says
Soft and rich, the 2003 vintage is a Marlborough wine, harvested with 50 per cent botrytis infection of the berries and stop-fermented in a light-bodied style with 9. 5 per cent alcohol and plentiful sweetness (150 grams/litre of residual sugar). Delicious in its youth, it's very harmonious, with ripe-peach and pear flavours, balanced acidity and a seductively sweet, well-rounded finish.

Michael Cooper (2000 Vintage) says
Dessert wines made from Chenin Blanc are rare in New Zealand. The light gold 2000 vintage grown in Marlborough and harvested at 33 brix, is a sweet but not super-sweet wine with lemon/apple aromas, faintly honeyed, and a very clean and crisp palate, starting to develop some minerally characters. It could well reward further cellaring.
