Cracka Review

Sav blanc is still very much EnZed's domain, and this one from Forrest Estate is ideal for that cheeky glass after a hard days work to self-medicate yourself with. There's lots of tropical fruits on the nose, along with smells of gooseberries, grapefruits and hints of grassiness. The palate is lighter-bodied and fruity, with zippy citrus flavours, frisky acidity, and a dry, crunchy finish. .

Winemaker's Notes

Dr John Forrest’s love of innovation and experimentation were tested in his attempts to produce this lower alcohol, yet full flavoured Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Careful selection of Sauvignon Blanc clones, vineyard site and microclimate, where these chosen vines were grown, plus a couple of little viticultural secrets have resulted in this innovative wine. Sustainably grown, naturally produced, full flavoured Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Amazingly pungent Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc full of blackcurrant, tropical fruit and herbaceous aromas with a racy, crisp, off-dry finish. At a modest 9.5% alcohol; enjoy drinking with lunch or anytime.

Nick Stock (2011 Vintage) says
With super-low alcohol, this is a mere pencil sketch for the normally full-tilt tropical fruits of Marlborough sauvignon blanc. Melon and apple fruits here, gentle chalky texture and a light, easy finish.
