A lovely Riesling this one, full of crisp limey Riesling goodness and those trademark Canberra florals. Actually that floral edge is what makes Canberra Riesiing enticing actually and this slightly simple but still aromatic Riesling is nothing if not approachable and drinkable.
The crisp citrus flavours, grapefruit nose and hints of complex minerality in this Riesling will win you over. It is delicious.
Awards And Accolades
"This gold-medal winner from the 2011 regional wine show could easily pass as a Mosel. The low alcohol (10 per cent), delicate lime like flavour and high acidity move it way beyond the spectrum of flavours we normally see in Canberra. Just as Mosel vignerons do winemakers Bill and Jaime Crowe arrested the fermentation, allowing the residual grape sugar to mollify the tart acidity. The 13g per litre of sugar doesn't register as sweet - it simply fleshes out the mid palate, creating a delicious tension between the fruit flavour and acidity."- Chris Shanahan (The Canberra Times Food and Wine)
