Fox River Shiraz

Expert Reviews

Max Allen & Peter Forrestal (1999 Vintage) says
Fox River is the second label of the Mount Barker producer, Goundrey. The wine comes from vineyards in the Great Southern and spends 15 months in predominantly American oak before bottling. The 1999 Shiraz is a very good wine: spicy, ever so slightly stalky with white pepper edges and dark plum flavours. It has medium weight, is clean and well made with good concentration and reasonable power.

James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Light to medium red-purple; there is relatively soft fruit on the bouquet with some charry oak; the palate is pleasant, with soft cherry fruit and clever oak handling.
