James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says
Has 3% co-fermented viognier, and was matured in French oak (25% new); the vibrant colour and fragrant bouquet do not deceive, for the palate has deliciously pitched black cherry, spice and licorice fruit. The laconic comment from the Lee brothers is 100% correct: ïshiraz seemed to work better than pinot noir in Í11. DonÍt know whyÍ.

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2008 Vintage) says
A gold medallist on the wine show circuit - admittedly at one of the minor shows, but still a gold-medal grading is a gold-medal grading - and priced better than fairly. Another goal kicked by Foxeys Hangout. Quality wine in all respects. It tastes of dried tobacco and rich, ripe plums, pepper-spice and toasty, nutmeg-like cedarwood - sweet ripeness and ardent savouriness all at once. Its tannins are well formed and while it's twiggy on the finish, it has excellent persistence. Cool climate in style (it's not really for big-red drinkers) and a lovely example of it.
