Framingham F Series Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2010 Vintage) says
The powerful 2008 vintage was hand-picked, fermented with indigenous yeasts in a 2:1 mix of old oak barrels and stainless steel 'barrels', and 50 per cent of the blend went through a softening malolactic fermentation. Rich, ripe and rounded, with barrel-ferment complexity and some slightly 'funky' notes, it's a non-herbaceous style, concentrated and complex, with gentle acidity and a bone-dry, finely textured finish. The 2010 is a mouthfilling (14.5 per cent alcohol), subtle wine with youthful colour, ripely herbaceous flavours, slightly nutty and creamy, and a dry (3 grams/litre of residual sugar), finely textured finish.

It shows excellent harmony and is well worth cellaring.
