Framingham F-Series Montepulciano Rosato

Cracka Review

Winemaker's Notes

Delicate flavours of strawberries, rhubarb and raspberries and cream with a dry finish. The juice was left for 3 days on skins then tank and barrel fermented. A portion also underwent Malolactic fermentation.

Reviews and Accolades

"Last made in 2011. Quite a pretty wine with floral/violet characters. The wine gains its fairly deep (for Rose) colour from three days skin contact. It's a serious Rose - dry with a firm acid/tannin structure. Good food wine". - Bob Campbell MW, 2013.

4 Stars - Bob Campbell MW - NZ.

Michael Cooper (2010 Vintage) says
The instantly attractive 2010 vintage was made from Montepulciano grapes, grown in Marlborough. It's a vivacious wine, off-dry (5 grams/litre of residual sugar), with vibrant, delicate flavours of raspberries and strawberries, showing lovely freshness and harmony. The 2011 vintage is very similar, with an enticing, bright pink/pale red colour, mouthfilling body and vibrant, berryish flavours, showing excellent delicacy, freshness, poise d depth.
