Michael Cooper (2011 Vintage) says
Notably classy, smooth-flowing red, deeply coloured, with highly concentrated cherry, plum and nut flavours. Bright and youthful, deliciously savoury and supple, it shows excellent harmony, with the depth and structure to age well. Open 2016+

Restrained earthy/savoury nose and very big, beautifully layered, intensely flavoured palate.

Nick Stock (2006 Vintage) says
Sweet spices here and a settled wine with plenty of complex pinot noir fragrance, spice and allure. Red cherries and redcurrant fruits, plenty of elegance and smooth, fine tannin balance. This has a really pretty side to it and plenty of detail, softer than many past vintages, velvety tannin texture and innate balance.

This Marlborough red is grown at the hillside Clayvin Vineyard in the Brancott Valley, matured in French oak barriques (10—20 per cent new), and bottled without fining or filtering. It tends to be more floral and charming than its Fromm Vineyard stablemate. The 2006 is full ruby, sweet-fruited and silky-textured, in a highly varietal, 'feminine' style, cherryish and spicy, with supple tannins. It's a forward vintage, for drinking now onwards.
