Nick Stock (2008 Vintage) says
The flagship red from Gemtree is a big and lovable red that carries plenty of fleshy fruit, big flavour and an approachable style. The nose is packed with plum essence, chocolate, red fruits, anise and earthy nuances. The palate serves up generous plum and Sacher torte flavour, some red fruits and berry coulis; strapping tannins are well-resolved.

Jeremy Oliver (2008 Vintage) says
Slightly cooked, with an unusual mineral, briney finish. Porty, treacle-like aromas of blackberries, currants, prunes and varnishy, mocha oak reveal a hint of briar. It's sumptuous, smooth and vibrant, with an intense core of fruit that provides length and brightness, but finishes with notes of stressed fruit and raw oak. Lacks genuine polish and finesse.
