Geoff Merrill Wickham Park Sauvignon Blanc

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Imagine how much seafood would be left in the world if no-one had discovered Sauvignon Blanc? There would be a lot less nervous prawns at the bottom of the ocean that’s for sure. Anyway it’s all about survival of the fittest so we give you permission to order a kilo or two of the finest and fattest prawns to go with this sensational savvy. It’s bursting with fresh fruits, a generous mouthfeel and crisp acids on the finish.

WINESTATE (2011 Vintage) says
Fresh cut grass/capsicum aromas and simple tropical fruit palate - quite sweet.
WINESTATE Volume 34 - Special Edition
James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Unusual wine; the texture suggests some barrel fermentation or maturation, but there is none, just gentle tropical fruits with some grassy edges.

Clean and fresh, with vibrant herbaceous, cut grass aromas; the palate is quite thick on entry but brightens up with good acidity on the finish.

Quite a fresh herbal character to a complex nose with a pungent lift. Palate not typically varietal but has a very pleasant flavour profile and good texture.

Max Allen & Peter Forrestal (2004 Vintage) says
Although this McLaren Vale sauvignon is a bit out of our price range, it's worth snapping up when it's on special. It has attractive sweet tropical fruit in the mid-palate and a clean gentle finish.

James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
An aromatic mix of tropical fruit, snow pea, spice and mineral; excellent intensity, length and balance.

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Light straw-green; the firm bouquet has a mix of mineral and a hint of herb, with gooseberry joining in on the clean palate; fresh, fum finish.
