The 2003 vintage has concentration and complexity, but also reflects the difficulty of fully ripening Merlot grapes in the deep south. Matured for 16 months in American and French oak barriques (30 per cent new), it has fullish but not deep colour, a leafy bouquet and smooth plum, herb and blackcurrant flavours, showing good depth.
