Michael Cooper (1994 Vintage) says
Estate-grown at Bumham, south-west of Christchurch, this is a distinctive wine, not for the fainthearted and certainly not for enthusiasts. The 1994 vintage is an austere, bone-dry wine, brimful of character. Harvested at 19 brix, it's slightly softer and less spiky, more approachable than the bracingly acidic 1993. Yellow-hued, it offers strong, developed, toasty, citrusy flavours threaded with firm acidity. A good food wine, it's now approaching its peak.
