Nick Stock (2006 Vintage) says
Well made and upbeat, there's roughly three-quarters shiraz in this blend; grenache adds some lifted red fruit aromas across the top, plenty of liquorice and plum. The palate's thick and swarthy, really deeply concentrated plum and chocolate flavour, dense tannins, dark chocolate and toasty oak linger on the palate.

Campbell Mattinson (2006 Vintage) says
Gilligan is a small operation but the wines have become steadily better over the past five years. This is the best so far. 2006 RELEASE Bonza drink. Epitome of what this blend is all about. There's an excellent whack of warm, soft, vibrant flavour, the impression of it running to all corners of your mouth. This is McLaren Vale red wine on excellent show. Spice, blueberry, blackberry jam - but not at all overcooked. Lively! Really good. DRINK 2008-2013.
