Grenache is one of the best buys out of the Barossa Valley. The fruit tends to come from old 'gnarly dude' vines, which means they are intensely fruited. This one comes from 146-year old vines, and shows sweet raspberries and strawberries on the nose, together with sniffs of toasty oak. The palate is full and lush with compact red-berried flavours, fine tannins, and a dry, rich finish. Lamb is the go with this wine.
The latest addition to the Glen Eldon portfolio, our Grenache fruit is sourced from vines over 146 years in age. The vines are dry grown and produce small quantities of exceptional fruit. This quality flows through into the wine, a great quality Grenache at an exceptional price. All the hallmark characters of Grenache, ripe cherries, strawberries and deft use of oak provides great depth and balance. Fantastic drinking now, however will cellar for up to 8 years from vintage.
