Glen Eldon Wines Kicking Back Barossa Shiraz Mataro Grenache

Cracka Review

Rich, fertile, sandy loam and dark biscay soils provide ideal growing opportunities for vines. The Barossa has a Mediterranean-like climate, warm summers and cold winters further in enhance the viticultural conditions. The 2008 vintage produced beautiful ripe fruit, with exceptional depth of colour, flavour and natural tannins. The wine has been matured in American and French hogsheads for 18 months, resulting in exceptional fruit to oak balance.

Expert Reviews

Peter Forrestal (2006 Vintage) says
Glen Eldon is the family winery of Richard and Mary Sheedy in the Barossa. James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Good hue and depth; substantial medium- to full-bodied wine, with a potent mix of blackberry, plum and blackcurrant; will develop; low price for a wine to be cellared.
