Goldwater Wood's Hill Cabernet Merlot

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
Showing good concentration and complexity, the 2002 vintage was made from grapes off young vines and others not selected for the top label (above). Estate-grown on Waiheke Island and matured for a year in French and American oak casks (50 per cent new), it's a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (69 per cent) and Merlot (31 per cent). Full-coloured, with cassis, green-leaf and spice aromas, it's a full-bodied wine with strong blackcurrant-like flavours, nutty oak and firm tannins. Best drinking 2004-06.
