Cracka Review

If one thing is going to hit your vinous G-spot, it’s the Goundrey G selection using selected fruit from the WA regions of Pemberton and Great Southern. Bedecked with bling, this wine has a trophy and a gold medal and attains that perfect balance of tropical fruit from Sauvignon Blanc and grassy citrus from the Semillon. It’s crisp and long with bags of flavour and has a refreshing length that makes it a proven partner with fresh seafood.

Winemaker's Notes

Brilliant and vibrant white with a youthful green tinge, the nose is intensely aromatic with fresh tropical fruits of honeydew, pineapple and lemon citrus complemented by herbaceous lantana and peapod.

On the palate, juicy lemon and lime citrus notes are enhanced by tropical fruit flavours and passionfruit. Intensely flavoursome, the wine has a fine natural acidity. Enjoy while young and fresh or carefully cellar for 1‐2 years to gain complexity.

Serving Suggestion: Enjoy with pan fried salmon with coriander lime pesto

Goundrey G Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

Expert Reviews

Nick Stock (2009 Vintage) says
A more fruity and zesty wine than the Brookland Valley Verse 1 (different brand but from the same company), showing overt passionfruit and gooseberry, some lime juice and terrific, fresh acidity that sizzles long through the finish.
The Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide 2010 2009
James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Vivid hue; citrus, tropical and pungent cut grass bouquet; plenty of depth on the palate, with the acidity providing freshness to finish. Gold medal Sydney Wine Show '10.
Ray Jordan (2009 Vintage) says
The nose is a striking mix of gooseberry and lychee with a fair whack of lime juice. The palate is a taut racy combination that sets a cracking pace to a long sustained finish. Touches of snow pea and gooseberry richness complete a good wine.
Ray Jordan's 2011 WA Wine Guide 2011
James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Almost water-white; bright, zesty and crisp grass and herb aromas and flavour supported by minerally acidity on the palate
Australian Wine Companion 2010 2009
James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Tropical and stone fruits mingle together to produce a wine with considerable weight and intensity; the palate is rich, yet has lively acidity provided by the lingering semillon fruit
Australian Wine Companion 2010 2009
WINESTATE (2007 Vintage) says
Green beans and capsicum on the nose and interesting grapefruit and green apple flavours - very rich. Palate has a chalky texture and clean acid finish.
