Grant Burge Barossa Range Semillon

Out of Stock

Cracka Review

Pale straw in colour with complex aromas of citrus, florals and lemon zest. The elegant finely structured palate displays similar zingy citrus characters of candied lemon with a hint of lime, as well as a slight herbaceous character. The wine has a rounded mouth feel and persistence of fruit flavours, with a clean, fresh acid finish. Ready to drink now, while it is young and fresh, this wine is an ideal partner to spicy Asian food, chicken and medium-textured fish dishes.

WINESTATE (2007 Vintage) says
Bright, warm citrus peel fruit with slight guava influence. Great silky texture to the palate, with a hint of aged complexity developing.

Light to medium yellow-green; a solid, clean bouquet with some citrus is followed by a palate with plenty of flavour in a ripe citrus mould. There is no question that withholding oak is the right way to go.

Max Allen & Peter Forrestal (1999 Vintage) says
Unlike its big barrel-aged sister (Zerk Barossa Valley Semillon), this cheaper Barossa semillon is fermented in stainless steel tanks and has a fantastic freshness and liveliness. There are green apple and green pea flavours and some of semillon's trademark lanolin characters. The wine finishes with a delicious twist of lemony citrus, which we associate with the variety when it's grown in the Barossa.
