A stylish, firm and assertively structured pinot with a comparatively simple expression of confection-ike raspberries, red cherries and berries. While it's lifted by sweet vanilla oak and spicy scents of clove and cinnamon, its smooth-centred palate remains slightly thin. It finishes with pleasing acidity, but without great length of fruit.

Rather soupy, meaty and smoky, with light floral aromas of plums and cherries overwhelmed by charry oak. Soft and juicy, sweet and syrupy, its confectionary palate of simple berry/cherry fruit lacks length and structure, finishing green and under-ripe.

An improvement in Domaine Chandon's still pinot noir, with a minty, perfumed aroma of sweet red cherries and rose petals, plus a musky, meaty whiff of charcuterie. Supple, smooth and willowy, with spotless berry/cherry fruit offset by lightly smoky and sweet vanilla oak. Framed by fine tannins, it's a pristine young wine just about too pretty to be taken too seriously.
