Believe it or not but getting pink wines to be the right sort of pink can be quite tricky. Too pink and sweet and you end up with awful sugary liquid the colour of soap. Too dry and, well, not pink, and you're better off sticking to water. All of which means that when we find a well priced pink wine that actually nails its 'pinkness' we get a little excited.
That brings us nicely to this Griffith Park. Produced from genuine cool clime Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with the extra colour coming courtesy of a little juicy South Australian Shiraz. The net result neatly balances juicy berry flavours with enough refreshment to have you coming back for more.
Vibrant pink, this wine has strawberry and raspberry fruit aromas, with a red berry taste. A smooth and creamy texture with refreshing finish.
Produced from the same grapes as champagne – Chardonnay and Pinot Noir - with a dash of Shiraz to provide the added berry fruit lift and vibrancy.
Nose: Lifted aromas of strawberry and raspberry fruit.
Palate: Juicy red berry characters, smooth and creamy texture, with refreshing finish.
To really enjoy Griffith Park Sparkling Rose, serve chilled as an aperitif with nibbles and share special moments with friends. Also excellent with a curry or fish dishes.
